This Guy Amazingly Performs “O Mio Babbino Caro” with a Hand Saw and a Violin Bow

Spain’s Got Talent judges were awed by the rendition of Adriano Fernandez “O Mio Babbino Caro,” a piece taken from Puccini’s opera Gianni Schicchi.

Adriano Fernandez is not a singer, nor plays any real musical instrument. His specialty is “hand saw.”

Using a violin bow, he draws it across the saw while bending it, producing a unique sound. It’s quite difficult to determine the exact sound it creates because it has a part human voice, part violin sound, and part something that we could not explain or even put our fingers on.

The sound is majestic and extraordinary which gives his performance a standing ovation. In fact, one of the most famous remarks he received in the comments is his perfect sense of pitch.

Adriano had several covers with his unusual instrument which he calls a singing saw or a musical saw. Songs like “Somewhere over the Rainbow,” “Misty” by Ella Fitzgerald, and “Gymnopedie No.3” by Erik Satie are some of his favorite covers.

What do you think? Will have his place on the orchestra someday? Watch this video.
